Eric Johnson is the Director of Digital Access at the Folger Shakespeare Library, where he heads the Digital Media and Publications division. He manages the Folger’s various digital initiatives and oversees the journal Shakespeare Quarterly and the Folger Shakespeare Editions series of Shakespeare’s complete works.

Eric Johnson talks with Tony about the importance of digital asset management and making museum and cultural institution collections available beyond their physical boundaries. The Folger Shakespeare Library is the world’s most extensive Shakespeare collection and has developed a custom-built data asset management system to increase access to its holdings for academic research as well as broader public consumption.
